Meet Dr. Derek Haber: Periodontist


Dr. Derek Haber was born in Miami to Cuban parents. Having grown up in Miami, he is fluent in both English and Spanish. He attended Florida International University where he received a Bachelor’s of Art in Chemistry and graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Haber then received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the prestigious Ivy League institution The University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated at the top of his class. His love and passion for dentistry influenced him to continue his training at the University of Florida and received a certificate in Periodontics and a Master’s of Dental Sciences with a focus Oral Biology. After graduation, he spent some time Fort Lauderdale working with Dr. Jerry Rosenbaum. He currently resides in Miami and is a member of Dontics Center, where he focuses exclusively on placement of dental implants and the treatment of gum disease.

Dr. Haber is a highly skilled clinician with a gentle hand, as well as a warm and caring personality. His patients feel very comfortable and at ease under his care. Because of his dedication, he spends countless hours in continuing education to provide the best care for his patients. His has published research in periodontics in peer-reviewed scientific and dental implants. He is active in several local and national dental organizations including:
